Dramatic Arts Workshops
(for Elementary Schools and Public Libraries)
These multifaceted creative arts projects offer children hands-on opportunities
to use their own artwork to dramatize a story. They encourage individual expression
and provide a framework for working together on a cooperative dramatic arts project.
This type of workshop can be use as stimulus for the exploration of other cultures
and countries.
The children work in small groups to develop a variety of puppets, masks, and interactive
scenery representing characters in an international folktale. They rehearse together
experimenting with expressive movement, and gesture as they practice puppet manipulation,
positioning, timing, taking turns, and listening for cues.
Nan Provides narration, live music, and sound effects in support of their performance.;
